Qatar

Doha, Qatar, 2 April 2013 – NSCC International was recently awarded a piling sub-contract for Abraj Quartier’s Gateway Towers, at The Pearl in Doha.  The main contract, valued at QAR 795 Million (USD 218 Million), was awarded to a leading Qatari construction company by United Development Company (UDC) in March.

Standing high at around 201 meters, the Gateway Towers will boast a build up area of more than 230,000 square meters. In addition to the seven towers’ 2,000 residential units, the project includes 200 waterfront townhouses. Over 350,000 m² of building area and 160,000 m² of decked parking for 5,000 cars occupy this 13-hectare site.

A regional leader in Ground Engineering, NSCC International’s innovation, integrity and enterprise has been integral to the very foundations of modern Middle East. NSCC International is pleased to announce this recent award and looks forward to more projects being awarded in the growing Qatar construction market.

Vibro Compaction Subcontract Work for Satah Al Razboot (SARB) Artificial Islands, Abu Dhabi

1 Dec 12
UAE

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 1 December 2012 - NSCC Ground Improvement in collaboration with BetterGround, was recently selected as sub-contractor for Ground Improvement works for the Satah Al Razboot (SARB) Artificial Islands Project in Abu Dhabi. The scope of work involves vibro compaction of reclaimed material of the artificial island with two tandems (4 vibro pokers) to a depth of approximately 21.5 m.  Contracted volume of work is 2,000,000 cubic metres of material to be compacted.

The SARB project details the reclamation and construction of two artificial islands, SARB1 and SARB2, to facilitate drilling works for the extraction of crude oil as a part of the SATAH Oil Field Expansion and Development. These works are a part of a wider plan for ADMA-OPCO, the UAE government agency responsible for off-shore drilling within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

As a part of the reclamation works, vibro-compaction is required on the newly dredged and placed backfill to mitigate liquefaction due to the islands proximity to the Dibba fault line on the east coast of UAE.
