NSCC International set a new world record with this
installation of 48” gas pipeline and parallel 180 mm HDPE pipe for fibre optic cabling underneath Shatt Al-Arab by HDD method, in terms of pipe diameter, pipe wall thickness and length of crossing. The gas pipeline will provide gas to several power stations.

What sets this crossing apart from others is the exceptionally thick wall of the 48” gas pipe, measuring 27 mm, while the pipe pulling was completed in 17 hours.
