NSCC International is Awarded Subcontract for Doha Metro Green Line – Al Rayyan/C-Ring Station

NSCC International Doha has been awarded the subcontract for the foundation works on the Doha Metro Green Line – Al Rayyan/C-Ring Station. This enabling works package was awarded by the main contractor consortium, Porr-SBG-HBK Joint Venture.

The enabling works package includes diaphragm wall, contiguous piles, anchors, shotcreting works, steel net walls, rock nails and weep holes, and will take 7 months to complete.

The Doha Metro network will cover 93 stations, two of which are central and located in the city of Msheireb and Education City. The Green Line (Education Line) will link Musheireb to the Al Rayyan Stadium, and will have eight stations. Its 16.6km-long twin-bored tunnel will be built at an average of 20 metres.

The Al Rayyan/C-Ring Station is the largest station along the Green Line, and the enabling works awarded to NSCC for this site makes up approximately 28% of the entire works required for the Green Line. Works have just commenced on site and is expected to be completed by November 2014.
