NSCC International Receives Highest Environmental Commendation from TDIC

NSCC International is very honoured to have received the highest commendation from the Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) upon environmental inspection of its Cranleigh School project site on 3rd September 2013. The main contract for piling works for Cranleigh School Abu Dhabi was awarded to NSCC in July.

The Environment Manager from TDIC who inspected the site commented, “NSCC is the first contractor till September 2013 with no infraction on site. The site is perfect from an environmental point of view.” With 45 years of experience in ground engineering, NSCC International has always held firm to a strong and sustainable Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Policy. This recent commendation from TDIC is testament to this.

The foundation works on the Cranleigh School site commenced in late July and were completed two weeks ahead of schedule. The scope of works included:

600mm dia. piles : 851 nos., to a depth of 16 m
Static pile load tests : 9 nos.
Non working load tests : 2 nos.
Integrity tests : 851 nos.
Dynamic load tests : 43 nos.
Sonic coring tests : 85 nos.
Excavation volume : 21,430 m³
Backfilling : 332 m³

Located in the Saadiyat Cultural District next to Manarat Al Saadiyat and the UAE Pavilion, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi will become the largest school campus in Abu Dhabi with open green spaces and extensive landscaping. The project’s total development area is 84,800 m2, incorporating separate Junior and Senior schools (each with its own classrooms, faculty offices, administration offices, dining hall and library), Science Block and Sports Hall.
